Robinson Township Public Works Department

The Robinson Township Public Works Department provides services fundamental to safety and the quality of living in our community. Many of these important services go unnoticed until the snow flies and our roads are left with gaping potholes. The Public Works department goes far beyond plowing snow and repairing potholes in our neighborhood streets. And, spring and summertime tasks are very labor intensive to keep our parks green and clean, cutting grass and trimming shrubs. Leaf collection and preparations for the Autumn Festival keep them busy in the fall.

Public Works employs two mechanics, two lead road foremen and about 11 road crew personnel. Mechanics maintain vehicles and equipment for the department and all other township vehicles. They are ready to respond for any township problem from potholes, clogged sewers and more. The silent heroes of Robinson Township make sure to keep it running in tip-top shape.

Robinson Township’s Public Works’ personnel maintain play areas, the sports complex and equipment, shelters, swimming pool, fields, courts, buildings and playgrounds. They work year-round to ensure that the township’s properties are in good condition and functional, they collect leaves in the fall at no cost to the residents, and they make sure the township roads are plowed and salted during ice and snowfalls. The Public Works Department responds to local emergencies that may arise from clogged sewers, potholes, and other problems.

A Note About Our Roads

Robinson Township has a Pavement Management System (PMS) to provide long-range planning for the maintenance of the Township’s owned and maintained roadways. It is a blueprint to maintain the Township’s roads that are in good condition while improving roads that are in poor condition. The condition of roads are reviewed periodically to determine the proper maintenance. Click here for a detailed explanation of how Robinson Township’s PMS operates.
