Posted February 8, 2010: Important Notices to Township residents in this snow storm/state of emergency:
- If one has a fire hydrant on his/her property, one must make it accessibe. Maintaining a clear path to a fire hydrant is the responsibility of the resident
- Residents are not permitted to move snow onto Township streets. Residents can be fined as per Township Ordinance. Please do your part to keep the public streets clean for travelers.
- Due to the current state of emergency and upcoming snow storm, please refrain from parking anywhere on Township streets. Empty streets better enable the Public Works Department to plow and salt the roadway.

The U.S. Government is gearing up to begin the 2010 Census, and is looking for community members to interview residents and collect census information in our area. The Southwestern PA Household Hazardous Waste Task Force is sponsoring a recycling drive for common household chemicals Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 9am to 1pm at North Park Swimming Pool Parking area. Spring is always a great time to get rid of old paint, and other household liquids and solvents that are no longer needed. Learn more here.

Festival took place at the Burkett Recreation & Sports Complex, behind Burkett Elementary School. There was a wide variety of information booths, games, sellers and food concessions. The highlight this year was Johnnie Angel & the Halos! What a super event!
